composer for solo piano
Scotland is my home, its where I was born, it plays an important role in shaping my identity as a composer.
In my teens I studied classical guitar at the Carnegie Music Institute, In my twenties I played in some live bands and worked on studio projects. But piano is the instrument that best evokes my daydreams, so now I compose solo piano pieces that ebb and flow between minimal and neo classical.
Trying to channel a range of emotions into my music using minimum virtuosity, I'm focused on writing concentrated and intospective pieces that push the piano in every direction.
Ultimately, I'm trying to provide an emotive and enriching listening experience by exploring the delicate balance between tranquility and turbulence.
